Where is Dua Lipa from?

Dua Lipa’s ethnicity hails from Pristina but was born in London in 1995. Kosovo’s capital is home to her parents, Dukagjin and Anesa, who are ethnic Albanians. Due to the violence and oppression in the 1990s, Dua’s parents immigrated to the West three years before her birth, like many other Albanians.

She followed her passion and started to pursue a career in music in London.

She and her family moved back to Kosovo again after being in London for a while. This happened because her father wanted to look for a job opportunity. All she knew was London; moving back must have shattered her down.

However, while residing in Kosovo, she continued to have a tremendous creative streak.

How Was Her Early Life?

Dua Lipa clearly envisioned her career as a singer, even as a young teen. She devoted her life to music and put a lot of effort into honing her songwriting skills. Dua Lipa’s music is heavily influenced by hip-hop since most of her tracks combine soulful vocals with powerful, electronic dance beats.

With the release of her first YouTube renditions of her favourite pop songs when Dua Lipa’s age was 14, her career kicked off. Lipa used social media to communicate her voice with the world, even though she wasn’t discovered there.

She also spent some time modelling but left it because she wanted to focus more on her music.

Two years after returning to London to pursue her singing career, Warner Music signed Dua. Before officially signing the contract, she called her parents from Kosovo so they could be with her for the big day.

Many artists have performed covers, notably Australian musician Alison Wonderland, who remixed the song soon after it was released.

Dua Lipa songs helped her in becoming the most streamed female artist in the UK in 2017 after reaching a significant Spotify milestone.

Her breakup anthem “New Rules” was streamed over 1 billion times, according to Spotify’s year-end statistics, making her one of the most well-known musicians in the world.

Dua Lipa’s Levitating is another song from her best releases.
